iMariner Celestial Navigation Review
iMariner Celestial Navigation is a comprehensive toolbox designed for celestial navigation. It offers features like sight, fix, meridian, starfinder, and solar compass. The program also includes an embedded nautical almanac covering the sun, moon, planets, and stars, eliminating the need for HO-249/HO-229 tables. With iMariner, users can access almanac information for various celestial bodies and perform manual reductions using HO-249 tables if desired.
Furthermore, the software facilitates sight reduction by automatically calculating Intercept and Azimuth based on observed altitude and precise time. Users can save observations by passages and export them via email in CSV format. iMariner also supports taking fixes using two sights and assists in meridian passages to determine latitude and longitude accurately.
